AWS and Azure Certification Practice: A Study Plan for Beginners
Cloud certification preparation is easier to organize when you separate shared ideas from provider-specific services. Use this guide to choose a practice set, understand your mistakes and connect each answer to an official learning resource.
Start a practice set
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner practice
Cloud concepts, security, AWS services and billing. Start here when studying foundational AWS terminology.
Microsoft Azure Fundamentals(AZ-900) practice
Azure cloud concepts, architecture, services, management and governance. Practice choosing a service for a stated requirement.
AWS Certified Developer – Associate practice
Development-focused AWS practice for learners moving beyond cloud fundamentals.
Choose the exam before choosing the questions
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner covers foundational AWS knowledge. Microsoft Azure Fundamentals focuses on cloud concepts and Azure services, management and governance. Read the current official exam overview for the credential you intend to take; similar cloud terms do not make the two exams interchangeable.
For each study session, stay with one provider. Make a short glossary for compute, storage, networking, identity and costs. Write what a service does before memorizing its name. For example, distinguish object storage from a virtual machine disk by the type of data and access pattern in the question.
Use a practice set as a learning loop
Try a small batch without checking the answers first. A correct guess needs review too: if you cannot explain why the other choices are weaker, add the concept to your review list. The goal is to recognize the requirement, not a familiar sentence.
- Choose one English practice set and answer a few questions at a time.
- Check the answer and read the explanation, including questions you guessed correctly.
- Write one sentence connecting the requirement to the service or cloud concept.
- Open the reference to check unfamiliar terminology in the official documentation.
- Revisit the missed questions later and explain the answer without looking at the choices.
Turn mistakes into a focused revision plan
Group missed questions by concept: responsibility boundaries, availability, service selection, identity or pricing. If several errors share a category, pause the quiz and review that category before taking another batch. A higher repeated-question score can reflect memory; use your written explanation to judge whether your understanding improved.
Use the answer explanations to review the reasoning behind each choice. These short drills do not simulate a complete exam or predict a result. Use the official objectives and learning materials to check complete coverage.
